3 hot jumpers

After yesterday’s cape love, I’m thinking jumpers this morn. In my (extensive) shopping experience, it’s rock hard to find a jumper that looks as good on as it feels – warm, woolly and cuddly does not always a chic woman make.

The answer, put simply, is a jumper dress, because by flashing a bit (pref a lot) of thigh you totally overcome the fact that you have swamped your torso in wool. And there are some lovely tights around this year that will keep your legs warm whilst you put them on parade. I’ll be talking about my deep, undying love for jumper dresses later this week.

But for now, let’s focus on the traditional jumper. Many of this season’s knits are chunky, which can swamp you if you’re on the teeny-tiny side, not to mention giving you the chest appeal of a ironing board. Instead, I’ve chosen some funky fitted jumpers that will flatter your figure as well as shielding you from the Baltic temperatures that are surely in the post.

Everyone’s first stop this morning should be Kate Moss’ final (sob!) mainline collection for Topshop, which includes a very cute floral jaquard jumper – it’s going to work a treat with black harems and high-heeled ankle boots.

I’m also strangely drawn to Dotty P’s angora swallow jumper, which I can see with a dark denim layered skirt and a pair of crazy furry boots.

And there’s a brilliant winter basic in New Look’s sale at the bargain price of £18.39 – the corsage shoulder jumper will go with anything and thanks to the ‘soft stretch knit’ it should flatter your curves perfectly.
