Frankie Sandford vs Cheryl Cole

Appaz, in the style wars (they are real, you know – blood is shed) Cheryl Cole can no longer fly the flag of constant triumph.

National Treasure Cheryl is already being outdone by her sexy X Factor US replacement, Nicole Swerzerberzerdinger, and the Kelly Rowland/Tulisa X fashion saga is set to rival Cheryl and Dannii’s valiant sartorial battles, albeit in a much more high-streety way.

And now, according to my spies at Desire clothing, a dress inspired by The Saturdays’ Frankie Sandford is outselling a black number based on Cheryl’s iconic National Television Awards dress by almost 400%. The red shift has had to be restocked eight times, compared to Cheryl’s single sell-out. And Cheryl’s tribute frock has been reduced – shameful.

Desire say the Frankie-inspired shift has become their best-ever selling dress, and a poll on the site concluded that 80% of peeps preferred Frankie’s edgy style to Cheryl’s girly look.

Oh dear, Chezza. Is the dream all over?
