Summing up my style – and private dining at The Grange, Ealing

This weekend I was tasked with taking a photo that sums up my style (for a work thing)….

If you can get past the squinting (and the general pallor due to a late night Saturday), I think this one will do the trick.

The outfit kinda captures the way I usually dress; high street, but I deliberately choose pieces that look like they might be vintage. If I had a pound for every time someone has asked me if my dress/coat/jewellery/top etc is vintage, well, I would be slightly better off than I am now.

As for the lovely venue, the photo is taken in the garden of The Grange in Ealing. We borrowed their summer house for a leisurely, private Sunday lunch with lots of kids; I’m a firm believer in not inflicting six excited youngsters on a pub full of adult drinkers/diners, and the cute, detached summer house (with its own flatscreen TV and many cushions) was outstanding in that capacity. A great time was had by all.

In the pic, I’m wearing the Anna print, dipped hem dress by Miss Selfridge (a new frock I absolutely love ) printed cardi and layered nude and bergundy pointelle tights from Topshop, and “vintage” shoes (i.e. I bought them 10 years ago and still wheel them out when the mood is right).
