The search for a winter coat

After seeing some of the amazes coats on display among the fashionista throng at LFW, I’m thinking of going vintage/eBay for my AW11/12 winter coat. But I have seen a couple of tempters today on the high street that gently tickled my fancy (!)…

Above (v slightly hungover, as usual) I’m wearing the green, (removable) faux fur collar wool coat by John Rocha at Debenhams. I was drawn to it, because it’s green, but I’m not sure I loved it quite as much as I could have (is that a song?). Might be the shape, the fit or the deceptive pockets putting me off, not sure.

“How do these pockets work again?”

I do love a green coat, but I need some convincing…if you love, let me know.

Another colourful coat with a detachable faux fur collar is on the rail at Miss Selfridge. Love this teal, belted trench, although it’s not wool and it it shows (in the price – £85 – as well as the feel). Definitely worth a try if you love this colour and fancy winter’s must-have faux fur collar.
