Fashion Detective bestest beauty products 2011

I don’t usually blog too much about beauty bits, but as it’s the end of the year here’s a wee round up of my fave products of the year…

I was sent a hamper of Aldi’s Lacura products in the autumn and have been using them religiously ever since. The range is ridiculously affordable and the Shimmering Day Cream is my absolute bestest product; it moisturises brilliantly and smells sweet like mango. Yum yum. The Wrinkle Stop (packaged in a syringe-shaped bottle) is great too.

Every couple of years I like to choose a new fragrance (mainly because my old scent starts to remind me of hangovers) and after stumbling across Prada’s Infusion D’Iris in House of Fraser, I was sold. It’s sweet and smells like soap – my kinda pong.

A celeb favourite next; Cor Silver Soap. Appaza, Sarah Jessica Parker uses it, and if it’s good enough for her… It uses “nano-silver technology” combined with marine collagen to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, reduce wrinkles, soothe eczema and is s’posed to be good for acne sufferers. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and must say it leaves my battered ol’ skin clear and healthy-looking, so well worth a try.

Lipstick of the year award goes to Mac’s Morange – ’tis organge-tastic!

For the wild red barnet, I’ve used Kerastase Elixir Ultime this year – very good for dry ends, don’tcha know.

I’m still mad about Lush products; faves this year have been Karma Bubble Bar (seriously, before bed = heaven), Mask of Magnaminty (always wakes me up), Coconut Deodorant Powder and Breath of God Solid Perfume (smells like nothing on earth).

And am also giving a thumbs up to Gillette’s Venus Spa Breeze 2-in-1 razors (soap in the razor – genius), Batiste Dry Shampoo (keeps my colour in longer ‘cos I don’t have to wash my hair as often), Benefit High Beam (shine on, laydeez) and Soap and Glory Hand Food – a little treat I keep on my desk.
Beauty = done!
