Dinner at The Waterside near Chelsea

It’s been a busy old day. This morning I was speaking at a fantastic event up at City University for “wannabe” journalists. Next up, the Warehouse AW press day (more about that tomorrow) and then a peek at the AW collection from All Saints.

And to round off a busy day, a soothing soda water and some Southern-themed snacks at The Waterside, a pub/restaurant right next to Imperial Wharf. Sadly, I didn’t spy any Made in Chelsea cast members, but I bet they’ve been in there…

The Waterside is right on the river, two minutes walk from Imperial Wharf station
If you like a river view to go with your meal, this venue is ideal
We gorged on a selection of starters – the menu has recently developed a distinctly Southern flavour and as the pub is undergoing a revamp in May, look out for more of this to come
These ribs were smothered in a delicious chipotle-style sauce
And the crispy calamari was perfected by the mustard mayo on the side
These little jambalaya balls were spicy and full of fun Southern flavour
The venue is split over three levels with a more formal restaurant upstairs
I’ll be back to see what delights the bar has to offer after the makeover – Mr. Fashion Detective is doing his art-magic on the place, so expect something extra special
The pub is already full of distinctive features – I want that lightshade in my house (if only the house was big enough)
You can cosy up under the funky low lights
The pub has two heated terraces with one directly overlooking the river; once the sun starts shining it’ll be perfect
As usual, El found something unusual to pose with – the cage chair is right up his alley (this place has an emphasis on dining, so it’s totally family friendly)
