Lana Del Rey rocking her hi-top trainers – perfect sports luxe?
This is the first time I’ve written about Lana Del Rey; not sure why because I quite like her style and her songs. Maybe I’ve avoided her because she is so achingly hip that I don’t want to climb onboard a bandwagon – but the look she chose at the Isle of Wight festival was slightly surprising. That’s why she’s here today.
It was the trainers y’see. She just doesn’t strike me as a hi-top kinda gal, but the wedge pair she wore on stage with a fringed tee and denim cutoffs just worked. And backstage, her mahoosive beehive and girly, peach skater dress look fabulous with grey and white flats.
Since converting to the deck shoes I’m all over flat and funky footwear and am now sorely tempted to invest in some Lana-style trainers; some even have hidden wedges, so you’re not completely miniaturised. Plus, I bought my Olympic tickets yesterday and can see them coming in super handy for then – sports luxe, man (have you heard the Olympic theme toon by the way?? It’s by Muse, it’s called Survival – and it ain’t no dubstep).
