Toasting Her Madge on Diamond Jubilee Sunday

It rained. It rained hard. But that didn't stop us having a fabulous Diamond Jubilee Sunday of flotillas, fashion and a fine view of Her Madge (Matt is bemused by my spelling, but it looks so much cuddlier than "Her Maj", don't you think?)...

Dressed for the rain (in a £9 Primark mac), we started our Queenie tribute at The Waterfront, Battersea

And the drinking got underway with a traditional Pimms for her, and a pint of lager for him - note Union Jack nails, oh yes

Under grey skies, the boats muster

In Battersea, the riverside residents took full advantage of their addresses

Not a bad day to live on the river

We gathered with the crowds on the South Bank, directly opposite Chelsea Harbour

El gives us a rousing version of God Save The Queen as Her Madge takes to the river

As her wee boat takes HRH on a little lap of Chelsea Harbour, a steam train blasts a salute from the bridge

It was a bit like the Hogwarts Express - and that fact wasn't lost on certain people

Squint and you'll see dear Liz, all dressed in white like the Bride of Britain

Post Queenie excitement, El was gifted a rather stylish plastic hat by a fellow onlooker

On towards Battersea Park and we spotted the first hog roast of many outside The Prince Albert

We waited until we were in the park to get stuck into a hog roast sandwich with homemade apple sauce and organic rocket, hmmmmm

The vintage fashion fair was a big draw for me (obvs)

What better way to celebrate the Jubilee than splashing out on vintage bling?

Or you could get a vintage "do" courtesy of The Powder Room girls

As well as fashion there were giant Jubilee-themed cakes...

You'll notice that I bought the corgi jumper from Louche @ JOY (not that I like to take a theme too far or anything)

The boys start to flag as the rain really pours

An inflatable corgi went some way to cheering El up

Bedraggled but not out; after a soggy walk back along the river, a glass of fizz in The Waterfront put a smile back on my face - happy Jubilee, 'yer Madge. More red, white and blue fun & fashion to come.
