Paris part one: Cocktails and Olympics, Marais style

Apologies for the lack of bloggage yesterday my dears – I’ve been rather busy. As mentioned, I popped off to Paris on Thursday and in spite of it being something of a lightning visit, we managed to cram plenty in.

On our first of two nights, for example, there were cocktails, big screens and crocodiles in studded collars…

We stayed at a gorgeous, boutique hotel called Les Jardins du Marais which is central and chic, has a private courtyard garden with decking and smart cabanas, lovely bedrooms and a warm welcome for families: Look out for the cool croc in reception
Always dangerous when you start out with a “prevening” champagne cocktail: We stopped off at the lovely Café des Arts et Métiers, right next to Arts et Métiers Metro, for drinks and a bite: This refreshing concoction contained liqueur St. Germain, champagne, soda and citron
Next stop, we called on our friends and checked out their lovely flat
As well as a great Marais property, they have a very tasty looking vintage shop at their disposal: Fripes Vintage is just around the corner
Loving this 80s/50s mash-up
It’s all about the details: Le Marais is my favourite part of Paris
In honour of the Olympics, Hôtel de Ville has had a very British makeover
And you can enjoy the Games on the big screen
The kids enjoyed the atmosphere
And I enjoyed posing outside the grand town hall: I decided a very old floral blouse with those yellow Capri pants (back in heavy rotation all of a sudden) and pink wedges was colourful and Parisien enough for the occasion
Supper time…
Things were getting blurry by this point thanks to our boy going for a sleepover with his friends, leaving us to roam the streets (and bars) of Paris: Note the Happy Hour times above and you’ll get the idea. Shame we had to get up for Disneyland in the morning…more of that later
