Dallas is back! And I can’t wait for the fashion…
OMG kids – I cannot be the only one who is beyond excited about the return of Dallas tomorrow night? And thanks to Channel 5, I’ve got the lowdown…
I absolutely loved this show when I was a kid, and with the addition of a fashionable (and gorgeous) new generation of Texan farm kids / oil barons, the UK reboot is set to pick up where the last series left off and give us just as much drama and excitement as the original series. And Jesse Metcalfe (jus’ sayin’).
Obvs, I’m all about the fashion and as well as checking out the style of newcomers Julie Gonzalo and Jordana Brewster, I can’t wait to see how good the legendary Linda Gray looks in contemporary glam (can you believe she’s 71? Bet Lynch has got a lot to learn).
|Well, I’m loving Julie Gonzalo’s simple pink-flecked strappy shift and wedges already|
This version of the most successful soap opera, like, ever isn’t going to have shoulder pads and huge bouffants, but it is going to have glorious US glamour and intrigue – in spades.
Series one sees a seriously sparky feud brewing between John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Christopher Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe), clearing the way for bad ol’ J.R. (Larry Hagman) to get in on the ding-dong and rekindle the long-standing rivalry he thrives on with his younger brother, Bobby (Patrick still-cute-after-all-these-years Duffy).
|Shiny hair and boot-cut jeans – this Texan doll means business|
Of course, a woman is at the heart of the new Ewing feud (that’ll be Jordana Brewster, above, playing Elena Ramos) and there’s no stopping Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) from sticking her oar in; she’s on a mission to make sure that her son takes his rightful place as head of the Ewing family.
God, I’m addicted already.
The time is 9pm, Wednesday 5th September (or 8pm on Friday if you miss it) and the channel is 5 – be there, or be a Ken-Barnes-a-like-loser.
