London Fashion Week – Barbie style

London Fashion Week is almost upon us (it starts this Friday) and I was being grilled about it on BBC Radio London last night. My prediction is that most designers will fly the flag for British style, but rather than Union Jacks and sports luxe, we may see some unadulterated post-Olympics elegance come to the fore.

But there’s always someone ready and waiting to buck the trend, and at Louise Gray’s show on Monday 17th September, elegance is liable to go out the window in favour of the bold and the bubbly: her collection is being sponsored by Barbie (don;t be too surprised – Barbs has been dressed by Alaia, Burberry, Chanel, Prada and Louis Vuitton don’t you know?), and three of Gray’s catwalk looks will be inspired by everyone’s favourite dolly. Wowser.

In celebration of this super-girly, super-pink turn of events, I’m going to accessorise my Fashion Week look with one of these fabulous Clippy London Barbie bags. And they’re not just bags…

…these babies are lunch bags! Foil lined to keep food and cans (of readymade Cosmopolitan?) cool.

I’m soooo sticking my snacks in it as I prowl Sommerset House over the weekend; and when Fashion Week is done, perhaps a certain 12-year-old lady I know might like to have the most stylish lunch bag going? Too cool for skool indeed.

You’re never too old for a “Barbie-licious” lunch bag – right? (£30, Clippy London)
The quilted “Baguette”: Shiny black and Barbie-chic (£30, Clippy London)
Fancy carrying your sarnie in a hot pink and gold clutch? How fabulous (£16.50, Clippy London)
