Time for some shoe porn? I wanted to devote a post to Sophia Webster as her sexy shoes were the only ones to really grab me at Somerset House this time around - not least because she's the first shoe designer to be given a Newgen award...
Webster, a South Londoner (yay!) and Nicholas Kirkwood's protege, is making her debut at London Fashion Week and presented her SS13 Collection on Saturday afternoon. Hot shoes need a story and Webster's footwear is "inspired by the traditional dress of the Hmong people, Yayoi Kusama and deconstructed Aztec prints, all with a tropical West Palm Beach feel".
Presented in the context of a "Dolls House" (models were real life barbies in life-size boxes), the new collection is bright, bold, playful. There were printed wedges, highly striped heels, towering monochrome sandals and knee-high Aztec-inspired gladiator sandals. Phew.
You can see the SS13 collection here and why not get a few shoe-based thrills over the styles I got to shoot in the exhibition...

Pastel shades; Aztec effects; heels like an abacus - what the hell is not to love?

A riot of colour and a very appealing zig-zag

My word - if you love statement shoes, just try and tell me you're not having a funny turn over this pair? Funky shoes are rarely this elegant

Drool. Gorgeous!
Where can I buy her shoes?! Any online stores?
Net O Porter is the only one who sells them online but they only have a few styles.
