The JW Anderson collection hits Topshop – and London Fashion Week
On Friday, the truly wonderful Irish designer JW Anderson launched a collection for Topshop – and I was in there like the proverbial rat up a drainpipe; I love the androgyny, the playfulness, the prints, the shapes. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a designer/high street collaboration…
I could have gone mad. I tried on the black and white zebra mini skirt, pink and purple paisley skirt and the quilted silk tee, but my singular purchase was the purple and white striped cotton dress. I have visions of wearing it with all sorts of contrast shirt madness underneath.
But after a day at Somerset House, I want more. The cravings started when I spotted the gorgeous young lady above rocking the quilted silk paisley skirt in black. She’d styled it brilliantly; simply, with a grey jersey top and shiny patent boots, and just a cheeky flash of neon.
And then we hit Topshop’s Newgen showroom, and the (absolutely lovely) ladies printing out posters for the visitors were rocking the tortoise print separates. That’s it. I can’t resist *runs to the tube station, praying it hasn’t all sold out*…
|How gorgeous are those tortoise print skinny jeans? So cool with the white shirt (and the Louboutins!)|
|And I have to have the tortoise print tee – it looked so effortlessly cool with jeans, but I’m also thinking a contrast print skirt would be just the ticket|
