David Gandy – and dogs in jackets

Any excuse to publish a pic of David Gandy*, eh? Such a looker. But why is Sir G posing with a pooch? Doggie (and David Gandy) fans, read on…

David is playing his part in a very fashionable event taking place at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, where he’s an ambassador (awwww). The fabulous charity is putting on a “dogwalk” (see what they did there?) on November 8th, when the Collars & Coats gala ball takes place.

At the event, some of the biggest stars of the fashion industry (we’re talking Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson, Jenny Packham, Henry Holland, Giles Deacon and Vivienne Westwood who, can I just mention, I SAW IN REAL LIFE last night at Clapham Junction station – wearing golfing clothes at 11:30pm) will present the exclusive dog coats and accessories they have designed, before the pooch-tastic pieces are auctioned off in aid of the charity. Woof woof.

Check out Frankie in Jenny Packham…grrrrrfffff. Jenny says: “The coat is a development from a costume made for Dita Von Teese and is a Doggy ‘multi coloured dream coat’ made for a trip to Doggy Eden.”

Mr. Model-tastic Gandy and Hilary Alexander (worra match made in heaven that’ll be) are presenting the dogwalk and the event is being hosted by Paul O’Grady and Amanda Holden.

Now that is one cute puppy wearing Matthew Williamson. The great man himself says: “My muse was my American cocker spaniel, Coco….she is very chic!”

I wonder if a certain Ms. JoAnne Good has been invited? Her Barking at the Moon show is on Thursdays so she can always give me a shout if she needs a (ready for it?) ROVING reporter (pffffft).

*I hope the Gandy effect isn’t as powerful as Brad Pitt’s influence – I can just about cope with stinking of Chanel no5, but I ain’t got no room for a hound in the house.
