Loud dresses and scrummy curry: It’s Brick Lane

Now we’re throwing ourselves into this 60s shtick as a family; we popped up to Brick Lane today (me in a 60s-esque fashion tribute, as you can see above) to find the finishing touches to our party outfits for next weekend’s celebrations. And to stuff our faces full of the finest curry…

After shopping at Hunky Dory at the top of Brick Lane, we prowled around the back streets – quite the coat for prowling, don’t you think?

I dug out this old Japonica dress from the attic (aka my overflow wardrobe) – and the teal suede shoes are the Lulworth Beach boots by Clarks

After shopping and shooting we went to Cinnamon for a delicious Indian feast

Now that’s what I call Sunday lunch: King Prawn Biriyani at Cinnamon Brick Lane

We sampled the Modhucash Chicken – a mild combo of chicken, cashew nuts and honey. Seriously, bliss in a bowl

We burned off the calorific lunch with a wander around Old Spitalfields Market – M found his dream vintage glasses (thats his Christmas box sorted)

If there’s a place to crack out your turban, Spitalfields Market is it

I immersed myself in accessories shopping…

…while El shelled out his cash for a joke tomato (??)
