A Good Friday with Joe Browns

OK weather: this is how I’m feeling. I’ve had quite enough of your sleet and snowflakes. I don’t want to shiver and shelve my spring wardrobe any longer. It’s time for some sun. Serious sun. And colour. Lots of colour.

And I’m not willing to wait a second longer.

On Good Friday morning, the sun shone for approximately three hours in South London and we felt the warmth of it on our faces. It didn’t matter that we’d been woken up at 6:30am by five enthusiastic slumber party people (aka El and his buddies) – everything can be coped with when the sun is shining.

And so out we stepped, bright, early and remarkably breezy, to take some pics of the stunning new dress I’ve been sent by Joe Browns

Nothing like sunshine and a new dress to brighten up the Easter break

I used to write about this brand a fair bit when I was blogging for eBay’s Fashion Outlet and always liked the casual-yet-girly, slightly surfy vibe, but I’ve never worn any of their gear before.

Happily, the Joe Browns gang let me loose on their spring collection and offered me the chance to style one of their latest pieces. I plumped for the Forever Endeavour dress which is a fab midi length with a “zingy” print that can be easily styled with bright colours to really “pop” your look.

As you can see, I have not been shy with my colour-ways

I’m dead partial to a twisted plunge neck (makes the most of one’s boobage) and the fit and feel of this soft, light and midi-length spring/summer design is fluid and comfy, as well as stylish.

And there are plenty more fresh, floral designs to choose from in the Joe Brown’s women’s department if, like me, you’re totally over this protracted winter and want to inject some sunshine and lollipops into your life.

With hot pink tights and bright accessories the Forever Endeavour dress (£29.95) could stop traffic

If you didn’t want to do the shocking pink you could co-ordinate the tights with any of the colours in the print (or be far more sensible and opt for nude stockings – or bare legs, if we ever get above freezing)

I broke my slightly-faded, candy arm accessory out of retirement, along with a chunky orange and bronze bracelet, to complement the print in the frock

And my new Mary Jane heels from Jones’ Bootmaker worked perfectly with this look

To round things off, my lovely Les Miserables pendant

And if you’re feeling the shiny, happy Joe Browns stylee (it is the “original feel good emporium” after all), here’s a peep at the brand’s spring 2013 fashion show.
