Must-have Monsoon spring skirt

On a mad dash through Clapham Junction this morning I was stopped in my tracks by the sight of this super-skirt in the window of Monsoon

This is the third monochrome piece I’ve been tempted by this season. I tried on (and almost bought) a sweet Topshop dress with black and white stripes, and I’ve been sent a wicked geo print blouse with cut-out shoulders (!) by a brand I blogged about – I’ll show you that another time.

The Monsoon midi skirt is really eye catching (I proper ran over there to check out the price when I caught sight of it out of the corner of my eye). The photo doesn’t do it justice – when you see it in “the flesh”, it really sparkles.

From a distance it looks like the embellishments might be studs but it’s actually strategically-placed silver/black sequins.

They really make the zig zags pop, and I reckon this skirt would make a brill summer staple worn with black sandals or wedges and a simple white silk vest (maybe with a neon trim, if we’re talking fantasy outfits).
