Sixties Sunday in Old Amsterdam
Thanks to the new no-fly travel site I set up, we’ve just got back from an absolutely fantastic stay in Amsterdam, and while I was there, revelling in the culture, mega mid-century design and general coolness, I also found time to take some pics for Sixties Sunday.
I’m wearing another dress from JOY – and with the spring blooms (tulips anyone?) and sunshine in full volume, the 60s style Emmalee polkadot mini dress in turquoise was perfect for gadding about the city.
With a collared top and a shift shape, this dress is so easy to wear and so perfectly 1960s in its girly look. To toughen it up, ever so slightly, I chose Cheslea boots in blue suede from Clarks (so comfy for sightseeing and they even-out the sheer femininity of a mini dress).
My tights are teal (H&M) but you could easily stlye this frock with black tights and Mary Janes or white tights and block patent heels for a more authentic 60s look.
To finish, I added a lovely little knit jacket I found on eBay with a floral motif to complete the seasonal nod.
And the precise location of the pics? The beautiful Vondelpark, which is just about to come into full bloom, and the (incredibly posh and lust-worthy) area around Willemspark.
It’s groovy baby, ja?
