Sixties Bank Holiday Monday

60s sunday - blue capri pants and 60s jacket 5

I may be freelance, and work weird hours, but I do love a bank holiday. I love its’ Britishness and the fact that we’re all off together. Bliss.

To celebrate today’s May Monday I’ve shifted Sixties Sunday for a week and tried to create a very classic early 60s bank holiday look.

My top is a cute little jacket, perfect for spring in a floral print, that I bagged from eBay. The capri trousers (bank holiday essentials, no?) are from Reiss (inherited from my friend’s wardrobe; one woman’s trash….).

The cream kitten heels are very apt as they were a gift from my lovely architect, Elizabeth. She reads the blog and when I moved house two years ago she contacted me to see if she could help us re-design the new place. The loft conversion she designed is a dream come true and I am forever in her debt for bringing a walk-in wardrobe into my life.

Work on the new open-plan kitchen and dining room Lizzie designed started last Monday, and as soon as it’s finished I’ll be sharing photos: you can bet it will have plenty of midcentury styling.
