Clara Doctor Who 60s pinafore dress

Doctor Who Clara mustard polo pinafore dress

Forced to watch Doctor Who by my geek-tastic son on Saturday and once again I’m in lust with one of Jenna Coleman’s (aka Clara Oswald) outfits.

Doctor Who is hardly associated with fashion, but cute little Clara clearly has a stylist who shares my love of midcentury style.

In last week’s episode, Under the Lake (S9,E3), Clara was nipping in and out of the tardis wearing a pretty pinafore dress over a mustard polo neck jumper.

The checked pinafore dress in question is by my brand of the moment (if not decade) Miss Patina. Nearly everything by this label has a 60s or 70s twist.

I’d be wearing it with a yellow or white polo, pale tights and low heel Mary-Jane shoes. Perfect for everyday wear – and amazing sixties street chic with a swing coat and matching bag.

It may have been snaffled now, but if you can’t get hold of the original, try the Jayne Eyre style in black – provides the same vintage effect and it’ll set you back £69.80.
