Vintage at South Bank

Chilling in the sun (and Moschino)

I won’t lie to you; I’m not sorry that I’m over the Channel, getting some sun and cidre in the heart of Brittany.

But if I was in London right now, I would surely be heading down to Vintage at South Bank (VSB), a three day fest celebrating fashion from the 20s to the 80s.
I was particularly gutted to miss it because Horrockses Fashions have got pride of place with a store on the Thames-facing Vintage High Street in front of the Vintage Market, 250 stalls with music, fashion, art and mid-century furniture. Wowser.

Y’all already know that I’m a Biba fan so it should be no surprise that I’m also loving Horrockses’ stylee. And praise be, Horrockses is launching its newly-revived brand at VSB, including a collection of bed linen and accessories inspired by the original dresses from the 40’s and 50’s.
Just beautiful: Horrockses
As a tribute to Horrockses’ fashion history, there are sessions scheduled with a skilled seamstress to demonstrate how to make your own Horrockses dress from the bed linen using new patterns based on the original styles as well as a ‘Best in Show’ competition for owners of Horrockses dresses to have their picture taken and appear on the vintage catwalk

Best of all, there’s the chance to win a one-off Horrockses Fashions 2011 dress; if you are in London this weekend, go on my behalf – and win that dress!
