Rebecca Ferguson black and gold print dress on X Factor results show November 20th 2011

X Runner-up, Rebecca Ferguson, may have made me slightly sleepy (in a good way) with her performance of debut single, Nothing’s Real But Love, on last night’s X Factor results show, but her stunning dress had me sat bolt upright on the sofa…

She may be shy and retiring, but the Liverpudlian lass with the killer voice was rocking a knockout frock.

Dermot welcomes Rebecca back to the fold on last night’s show

I’ve already written about this year’s X Factor’s fashion flop (they need to get me in to sort out the styling, man) so it was fantastic to see something inspiring and sheer stylish on the show.

Courtesy of one of my fave designers, Rebecca’s appliquéd Emilio Pucci dress is stretch wool and it is GORGEOUS. If I had a spare £3,790…well, to be honest, I’d be using it to save up for a new house, but if (only) I were carefree and loaded, this exquisite dress would so be my Christmas treat.

If, like me, you can’t quite stretch to the real deal, this bejewelled ASOS Revive dress is similarly striking

ASOS Revive, £250

And Maison Martin Margiela’s contrast leather and jersey dress at NET-A-PORTER is a more affordable designer choice.
