Nashville fashion round-up: series 1, episode 10

Ooh Nashville just gets better and better – are you watching it? If not, why not? It’s as good as any frothy US drama that came before it – with country music. What the hell is not to love?

It is making me yearn for a return trip to Nashville, though. As soon as the house move is done and dusted, that’s what I’m saving up for.

And episode 10 had my heart racing over something other than the home of C&W (and Charles “the beard” Esten, of course) – the fashion.

This was the best episode so far in sartorial terms, so I thought it was about time we had a round-up…

First up, sweet Scarlett (played by Australian actress Clare Bowen) looked fab in a tie dye tee worn with white midi skirt – it’s the perfect grunge-country combo

You could create a similar look with this linen tie dye t-shirt by Jigsaw @ John Lewis (£45)

Not only was the hot red lipstick lust-worthy, I am absolutely loving the 70s retro-inspired shirt Hayden Panettiere (playing Juliette Barnes) was wearing in this scene: get down the charity shops to find your own version…

…like this all-kinds-o-awesome 70s floral polyester shirt from Rokit Vintage (£18)

More “country-girl-next-door” style from Scarlett – love this floral mesh dress worn with cowboy boots (what else?)

And here’s the actual dress: it’ll set you back £98 from Free People (a brand constantly popping up in the show)

So if I was a country superstar like Rayna James (Connie Britton), I would too be wearing this glam-bam-thank-you-ma-am gold embellished drape top with skinny jeans and gold heels

Here’s a similarly glam number by Tory Birch @ The Outnet (£104)

And if I was a younger country diva I’d probably go for a dress similar to this red embellished bodycon number by US label Madalay

Here’s an affordable UK version (£65 by Teatro @ if you’re inspired but don’t want to go quite so “arena tour” with your wardrobe

And finally, Nashville goes all Chelsea on us as Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) dons a very swish blue boucle jacket

Go for broke with the Tinsley boucle jacket by J Crew @ NET-A-PORTER (£500)

If you’re a size 16 or over you could enjoy this Elvi version for £70

Or keep it affordable with this blue New Look boucle blazer for £27.99
