Sixties Sunday – me&i 60s print dress
When I decided to change the direction of Fashion Detective and go all 60s on yo’ asses, I was a little worried that some of the brands I’d built relationships with over the years wouldn’t be keen.
In actuality, the opposite has happened.
Lots of my fave labels have been getting in touch to ask if I’ll have a look at their coolest 60s inspired pieces for the Sixties Sunday slot…well, yes, my absolute pleasure.
I first worked with Swedish brand me&i in spring 2013 and I’ve always loved their bold, fun prints. When they got in touch to tell me about the bubbles and dots cap sleeve dress, inspired by the 1960s, I happily volunteered to style it for the Sixties Sunday slot.
This dress is so cool and comfy and the 60s print absolutely zings. To wear it well, I’d steer clear of black accessories and keep things light and bright. I’ve opted for cream knit tights and red Mary Janes. My sunglasses, with a late 50s / early 60s cats eye flick, are by Calvin Klein.
Finally, the white heavily embellished coat. It is – I know – absolutely to die for. It was a gift from my brill skillz partner in crime (and photographer). I was lusting after a Manoush coat when we were on holiday last year and he somehow managed to find the most 60s-esque style possible by the French brand. He’s a keeper, as is the jacket.
Spring has sprung my lovelies and – I hope you’ll agree – this full-on 60s look is just the ticket.
With thanks to me&i.
